Last news about Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions for travelers to Bulgaria

Anyone considering travel to Bulgaria should check the latest information from the local authorities regarding requirements for international passengers arriving in the country.

All non-Bulgarian citizens planning on travelling to Bulgaria between 29 January and 30 April will have to present a negative PCR test taken up to 72 hours before arrival. This includes everyone arriving from countries in the EU, the Schengen Area, and fromthird countries.


Public places in Bulgaria

Group celebrations with the presence of more than 15 people indoors and outdoors (including weddings, balls, baptisms, etc.) are not allowed till 31.03.21. Grocery stores and pharmacies remain open. Supplies including food and medicine remain plentiful. Kindergartens, nurseries and schools for elementary students are closed. Students from 1th to 12th grade and universities are on remote learning.

All persons must wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose in all indoor public spaces (including hospitals, pharmacies, administrative institutions, shops, malls, churches, museums, and all public transportation including railway, bus and metro stations, and airports, etc.) as well as in open public spaces where there is a crowd of people and impossibility to observe a physical distance of 1.5 m. Scarves or substitute face coverings are no longer allowed in place of a mask.

As of Monday 22ndMarch 2021 Bulgaria will be in its 3rd round of lockdown measures since the pandemic began, initially for 10 days until 31st March.
